At what point does pressure hurt the injectors?

I used to run my EZ on levels 4 and 5 when I first got my truck. Recently DonM did my injectors and found one of them to be damaged, apparently from the pressure. I just got a TST box and an EZ box again to stack together. The truck runs great w/ the EZ on level 2 but on level 3 it is much, much more driveable. What do you guys think? Is level 3 too much pressure for these injectors? It's 60hp at that setting....

The sad part is that out injectors are supposed to be rated for 26 thousand psi and these modules are not suppose to increase the pressures beyond the designed limit. So what gives?

I did some research on this subject before getting my EZ. Seems like level 4 (and above) will damage the injectors after a short period of time (mileage). Believed Don M mentioned seeing damage injectors with 20-30k miles of use at the higher settings.
One member on another forum went 150k miles before having to replace his injectors running at level 3.
At levels 1 and 2 no telling. I think EB290 has 280k+ miles on his with the stock injectors running at level 2.

i'm guessing that the level 3 you all are talking about would be about the same as mt tow/per (about 53 hp) level 4 would be more like my perf (100 hp ithink ). the truch sure drives better in the perf but i too am worried about damage. i have called the programer manufacture but of course they tell me oh yea it is safe for everyday use and long term reliability.

I know the overhead gets screwed up too.
Level 4 is supposedly 70hp but on the dyno I actually got 100hp out of my first EZ. Unfortunately it knocked my mileage down 2 points. I guess I need to check to see how I'm doing right now.......

Not sure. The Edge EZ is a pure pressure box. I don't know if the Superchips is pressure only and or duration and timing.
Seems like pushing pressure past the 60hp mark is where the damage begins.
If your looking for long life out of the injectors I wouldn't go past the 50hp mark for pressure.

BTW, the information I'm giving is for the SO/HO Cummins, not the 600/610.
The 600's runs at a higher rail pressure than the earlier engines. My guess is not go past the 40hp range on pure pressure.

I`ve read someone`s report on the pressure boxes somewhere ( I can`t ever find an article I refer too when I need it) that studied the pressure jumps in realation to hp. What they came up with was every 1k rise in rail pressure equaled about 13 rwhp. So, going off that number, if you run the EZ on level 3 (60hp) then that should be about a 4600 psi jump. I kinda find that number hard to believe personally, but then again, you aren`t always getting 60hp out of it either. Also, they were measuring rwhp, not SAE hp, so I`m wondering if all the manufacturer`s measure the added power at the crank or at the rear wheels. Food for thought I guess.

With stock injectors...I have found 50-60 hp of pressure the "sweet spot" when stacked with the TST.

The power seems great w/ the EZ on the 60hp level but I just don't want problems 2 years down the road because of it.....

I believe the injector damage is not because of short bursts of high pressure, but sustained high pressure. I think the EZ bumps the pressure up a lot higher during cruise than you would normally see.

Wont Don Ms injectors take more pressure anyways. I was told that honed injectors seem to be much better at handling the pressure.
