what HG with orings?
i blew the 2nd gen HG (unmodified) that we put on the CR (in my sig)
That was with no more then 60 psi boost and no water or meth or Nitrous
could i go with a CR HG while whaving small orings? or should i modify the 2nd gen HG and/or head, to make it work?
Thanks

I've always heard it's best to use a stock factory gasket when o'ringing a head on a CR, that's what I have and Hamilton Diesel did my headwork. There wasn't even an option in his book.

The problem with the stock CR HG is the fire-ring is not round. Therefore the wire doesn't set even on the fire-ring. Also the choices in wire sizes are limited due to this. I have found that using the 12v marine gasket affords a good seal, uniform fire-ring clamp load and several choices for wire size.
I am not saying that using the stock mls gasket is bad, just that I prefer the 12v modified gasket...... Just my $.02 worth

Not sure why you are running an o ring on a common rail, but you can not use a multi layer gasket with an O ring setup.
Jetpilot has it right.
FYI I have 30,000 miles on a daily driven 800+hp common rail and over 30 passes on 2 big stages of nitrous (est 1000+hp). I have had zero head gasket issues.
Save the O rings for the 12V's.

How do you install the ARP studs properly?
i followed the sequence specified by cummins first round to 80 lb second round to 95lb then 110 then 125 then 130
more and more opinions, i jsut get more and more confused, i thought the OEM MLS HG was pretty good.
