Good idea! I wish I had a dealership around here like that

I have yet to find one that will work with you instead of trying to pass the buck to you, even when its unfounded...

Those 24 mpg people are on a pipe dream unless they drive 55 unloaded downhill with a tail wind.

17-18 mpg best ever...14-15 is the norm...no matter what I have done to my truck.

But...I have a heavy truck...big tires...and a heavy foot. I am not complaining.

Here's hand calculated mileage vs the trip computer.

Distance driven 996kms/621 Miles
Trip computer reading (Zeroed at start) 9.5L/100kms = 24.7mpg US = 29.7mpg Imp
Next fill was 120L to full = 31.7 Gals US = 26.4 Gals Imp
"Actual mileage" = 19.58Mpg US = 23.5Mpg Imp
This was a one day drive through the mountains, down some oilfield roads and home with a headwind all on the Perf tune on my Diablo Predator
I used to run a Smarty on this truck and I found the Diablo had more power, less smoke and better mileage..........all for alot less$$$$$$$

2006 Ram3500 auto QC LWB 4X4 with 315 70R17's and no other performance mods. This is pretty much the norm for me on the highway.

It is just too hard for MOST of us to behave with a modification like Smarty...

Truck just gets up and moves too fast for a 8,000 lb economy vehicle!

i agree, but even when i keep my boost under 8 psi when accelerating, driving with an egg under my foot...basically pokey dokeying around, my mpg is still lower than expected.

the smarty does make lots of power and i miss the smoke on demand!

I have just about 80K on the clock and I got my best MPG ever this last weekend on a float trip to San Marcus, 20.43 MPG. I-35 down and back at night so I keep it between 65 and 70 (closer to 65 most of the time) light traffic, I might have been able to get it higher if I didnt drive river road 4-5 times (the road follows the river so its hilly with a lot of curves). Only mods on the truck where the leveling kit, 315 BFGs, air filter, and aero muffler, plus 3 people and two ice chest of beer.

Who cares about MPG when you can cruise down River Road! I used to have a house 1 mile from where River road begins @ Hueco Spring in New Braunfels!
