Pat,

How much fuel do you need to feed the Super B to get it to light? Will it spool well on a stock truck?

I ran a Phat shaft 62/14 for a year

It was NOT a good towing turbo unless you are pulling over 70 mph

I could not pull heavy (18,000 gcvw and over) in overdrive at normal highway speeds without egt problems

this turbo does not have enough drive pressure at normal speeds

I had to drop a gear and suck a LOT of fuel

I am now using my stocker

great turbo for rompin around and grocery gettin though

for towing heavy loads, look for a turbo with a smaller exhaust housing
like 12cm;-)

the money I have spent on turbos since buying my 03 truck,
only to be dissapointed by false claims,
I could have easily put in a set of Nathans twins and from the sounds of it , would have been happier

I had the same problem with my HTT super stocker which is a 62/14/71 and had to drop a gear down to fifth when hitting hills but when I added the PPE downloader and a Dr P stage 3 for pressure I lost that problem forever. EGT's were very manageable.

The 14 housing is a dog when you go from the stock 9 housing. With out some low end pressure it takes forever to spool. I tried other combos and stacks but nothing was as good as the one I am using now. Mild and I mean very minimal lag but lights right off and pull like now tomorrow.

I pull a 13 K dry weight 5ver with all the stuff for full time living in it so I am figuring around 15K-16K total weight. 100 gallons of diesel inthe truck inclusing a full trunk tool box and custom bumpers and headache rack should probably put me around 24K total weight. This turbo pulled it no problem runnin a bit over the speed limit.

Ive looked at a few turbos like I said just wanting to get some opinions. I dont know a lot about them and just wanted to find out what everyone is using towing similar weight as I am. Can I still use my downpipe I have now I have a 5in magnaflow exhaust? Is pretty much a bolt in replacement for the stocker? Would I have to immediately upgrade the injectors?
