What is a good towing Turbo

I just swapped out my superchips for a edge juice with attitude and was very pleased with the added performance when towing. I haul a 48ft enclosed with two cars in it. Trailer empty weighs 9900lbs. then add two cars which are different weights at times. Im looking for suggestions as to what turbo you would upgrade to. I also would upgrade the injectors at the same time. It is a 06 5.9 with a 6-speed. I have already upgraded exhaust to a 5in. magnaflow and have a fass 150. I also have upgraded the clutch to a southbend fe so I have slowly been working towards this step. Any thoughts would be appreciated Im a little dumb when it comes to the turbo thing. The main thing is keep it ultra dependable I haul commercial.

alot of folks go with and ATS 2k or 3k, HTT 62.

or twins

Did you run aftermarket injectors with that combo or stockers?

stockers, but they are pretty much maxed out when everything is cranked up.

I thought the '06 trucks had a 62mm inducer wheel factory. Granted the exhaust wheel is a lot smaller, but for towing, I would think that would be about as good as you are going to get. It will spool quick and flow pretty good. There's always room for improvement but towing that much, I'd stay relatively close to what you've got unless you get twins.

HTT super stocker 62/71/14 or II silver 62 62/74/14.

I run the HTT and it pulls my fiver with no problem and looking at what you tow it would probably fit you like glove.

The word out is the silver 62 is the best towing turbo I have not tried sit so that is what I have read in several post. It is a lot pricier than the HTT but other owner so the silver series seem to like thier turbo..

I run the silver 62, and I have a hard time getting my EGT's over 1250 with Smarty on 9 towing 6.5K.

With the silver 62 can do you have to run a different down pipe or will my 5inch exhaust be alright the way it is. As far as the stock turbo I went up Jellico Mt. last night with the cruise set on 65 and it seemed to have plenty of power the egt's were in the 1325 range. I would like to see more power but if Im not going to see a big gain I will stick to what I have. Did you see any fuel mileage gains with your setup?

I was going to get a 62/12, but when I finally buy I think I'm gonna get a 62/71/13.

before my Silver 62, I could easily hit 1500 empty with my Crazy Larry on a WOT run to 100 and 1400 with Smarty #9. After the Silver 62, Crazy Larry would hit about 1325-1350 and Smarty would max around the 1250 range.

I really don't think I saw an increase in mileage

what about a silver 64? I talked to I I today and the guy was telling me to go with the 64 over the 62 with the mods I have, but it seems that Megaramasaur is doing just fine with his 62 and he has more mods than me. Any idea what the diff are between the 2.

Have you taken a look at our Super B? It will flow enough for 450-500hp and then down the road if you want you can upgrade it into the twins. Then the options are wide open for power.
