What exactly is de-fueling?

Just installed the Commander/fuel pressure kit and adjustable xzillarator. You can set any number of parameters to de-fuel at set values.

What exactly happens when it de-fuels? Does it just shut off the performance module to put it back to stock or does it actually reduce the amount of fuel or fuel pressure with the performance module still active?

Thanks

The ECM controls the amount of fuel flow to reduce the boost and or EGTs.

defueling cuts out any non stock fueling or pressure.

Turn the defuel settings to where it will defuel so you can experience it and know whats happening.

Unless their is still some injection timing, it sounds like the Quad Standard Module (30,60,100 HP) is basically shut down and would be stock during de-fueling?

Thanks for the reply

On a stock engine the ECM defuel only for boost and RPMs. With the Commander you can preset the max boost and EGTs (if you install the pyrometer) to defuel when those conditions are met.

I have no clue how the de fueling works with the Commander monitor on a stock truck. My defueling experience is from Edge using their Attitude and A2 monitors.

What the Edge did was cut off all aftermarket fueling. Example....EGT was set at 1350....i hit 1350 before the end of the quarter mile and the power fell off but still pulled...felt like stock power.

Yes it still boost fooled and I've heard that with some modules the timing is still a little altered even in the OFF position...thats because the trucks computer is still reading through the module.

I hope all that made sense and helped
