Well there is a big difference between 13.9s and 13.0s ETs.

My general performance only parts were:

3Disc TC/Full Billet Race Trans build with Suncoast Flexplate $7,000.
II SPS66 with Downpipe $2,000.
ARP Studs $400.
TST R49AP $900
EZ $475
Smarty $670
AFE Air Intake $400
Exhaust upgrade $250

So you spent close to 14k in mods on your brand new truck and thats what it takes to get a 13.0? Geez I sure am out of my league lol. I will have to settle for something slower.

It was kind of hard to explain spending over $6,000 on a tc/48re build with no problems and less than 20,000 miles on it . But if you really want to race and still be reliable that is where you start on an auto.

I have a 12.0 running s10 to race around. Total budget including installation is 7500 and whatever I can get and still maintain reliability is what I will have I guess. Any ideas now?

I'd get a VB/TC billet input, BDTD crazy larry or Smarty.. if there is any left over, get a GDP fuel Kit,
Do the DIY CP3 mod.... that will help with fueling alot from what I am hearing.
Just these mods will make you pretty darn fast and pretty reliable

Well some may disagree, but. You still need at least a TC/VB upgrade with billet input shaft. That can be done for around $3,000 installed. Then I personally would go with a turbo maybe II PS6280 $1,700 (Install is direct replacement, do it yourself or not to much for performance shop), air intake $200-$300, TST R49AP $900, Smarty $700, fuel system $500-$600. That will leave you with some money to take care of incedentals. That combo will put you in the 13s and be very street friendly I think.

That would be the cheapest route. You should be able to run 13's without the TST. That would save you a little money right now. Later on I would get the rest of the trans built if you plan on going faster. If I was buying a turbo right now I would look at the new HTTss.

Thanks for the good info. I dont plan on hitting the strip much at all really but if I did I would like the truck to be capable. I have probably had maybe 20 street races total with my dodge. I would just like it to have more power from a roll and be able to take a launch every now and then. So basically I need injectors, turbo(II sps6280 or new HTT), billet input shaft, billet flexplate, TC/VB, intake, fuel system upgrade and one of those programs....all of that and I should have manageable egts, trans shouldnt take a dump on me and it will be a good bit faster than it is now? Thanks everyone that has helped me out.

You won't need injectors to get in the 13s. Member packmule is in the 13's with a crazy larry and a pressure box... in a SIX speed megacab on 20's. Stock turbo, injectors, cp3, even the stock clutch. My friends 06 6speed ran 14.1x's all summer with an AFE intake, crazy larry, and mp8. An auto will be quicker....

The 13's are EASY to get to now. It's just safer if you spend a little extra cash and get a trans so it won't break and a turbo to keep things cool.

To save some money you might want to look north of the border for your tranny, with the dollar difference you would do well up here, even with the shipping etc I think you would come out ahead. But definately do the tranny. Even for towing you will need it done. I think that with a built tranny and a hot juice you would be possibly knocking on the door of 13's,,, and bitten by the diesel bug.... I used to race gassers,, not anymore, this diesel stuff is way too fun

I don't have the kind of cash some of these guys are throwing around either. Here is what I have spent. You can get into the 13s with out a high boosted launch. I haven't been to the legal strip with timing lights, but I know I'm well into the 13s with a 5-10psi launch, and I'll make any wager on that. There just insn't a 1/4mile track close than 3 hours to me right now.

Edge HOT Juice $650
Used mp8 $275
Used Predator $260 - pretty sure I was right about 13.8-14.0 without this
GDP Lift pump $400
Floor It cp3 $595 - could eliminate and PROBABLY still run 13s
Snow stage3 $650 - could eliminate and still run 13s
Goerend TC/VB $1800
Misc (gauges) $500
Exhaust $250 - can be done for $150 with same results
Air filter $60
Used Aurora 3k $1000
Used ATS manifold $300

I am sure you could run into the uper 13s for under your $7500 budget with labor charges. I did everything myself except for the cp3.

I ran 13.9's with a fully built tranny a crazy larry exhaust and drop in filter. I probably could have ran a 13.8 if i took my 35's of for stock size
