What does it take to run 13.0s

I am planning on a round of mods for my dodge. Right now it only has a Quad XZT and aeroturbine exhaust. I have had those on it for 30k with no problems at all. I wanted to do some mods but wanted to retain full driveability and be able to tow 10k(trailer and drag truck). I have been looking at the site to try and figure out a combo but I would rather hear from the experienced. If you have prices please list them. I am looking for a total price after installation at a reputable shop. I will cross my fingers in hopes it doesnt dwarf my budget. Thanks in advance.

Look up my thread about 650 hp. That will get you where you want to be if not faster.
Fill out your signature so everyone knows what your dealing with?

650 hp...that sounds way out of my price range. I will look for the thread though. Thanks.

Whats the big number though? $$$ I planned on a bigger turbo(maybe sps6280), injectors, converter, flexplate, valve body, intake, and maybe Juice w/attitude monitor so I can see whats going on. How far from my goal will I be with that?

I can cover everything but the 7k for a built tranny. Excuse my ignorance but I didnt think 13s was that difficult for a modded diesel. I thought getting 12s and under was where the big bucks started. My budget is 7500 for parts and installation.

$7k sounds high for the trans for what you're wanting. I'd say $3,500 will get you a good TC, VB. billet shafts and flex plate.

A big part of being able to run 13.0s with a 48re is the TC/Transmission. Probably the cheapest you can go and still be daily driver reliable and able to do hard launches at the track is $5,500-$6,000. The rest to get to that level cheapest would be around $4,200. Just my guess based on my mods.

The mods in my signature are about the minimum to run 13.0s and be street friendly.

I don't think $3.500 will do it for just those upgrades, at least not the parts I have.

the billet shafts and flex plate bring the price of a tranny up very quickly. in drag racing you truck your going to need boosted launches to aquire 13.0's. thing means you need a billet flex plate and input shaft. output shaft would be a good ideal as well. intermidiate shaft isn't as important but if it goes its taking most the tranny with it. if you pm timinva he sells DTT trannys he will straight out tell you what you need and don't need. he quoted me around 6600 for fully built all the shafts, flex plate and triple disc tc

So a 48re will not hold behind a bigger turbo, injectors, and a better box? I have read plenty of threads about a triple disc converter, billet flex plate and valve body being enough to hold some decent mods. I guess 13s are a bigger goal than I am willing to pay for.

Here's what I sprang for... and mind you, this was way over my budget, but I saved a little longer to make my truck capable of handling it.

Crazy Larry, (soon stacked with Quad XZT), ARP studs, Goerend- More than I'll ever need tranny (Billet input/intermed/output/front drum, bolt in roller clutch,Billet ATS flexplate, DD pan), GDP 392 Competion Kit w/ 2mk filter, Floor It Stage2 CP3, FLUX 2 injectors, AFE Stage II, Quad boost fooler, OH YAH... and the II Silver 62... and my kitty kat got caught and ripped it's guts out.

I'll give you a rough estimate of my costs:
Tranny: $7000
BDTD: 500
XZT: 200
Silver 62: 2000
ARP studs: 400
CP3: 1000
FLUX 2: 1100
GDP Comp w/filter: 700
Quad boost fooler: 70
AFE stage II: 450
Guages: 350
I'm afraid to add all this up???? But, I'm planning on keeping this truck for a long, long time, since the new ones are getting to be tree huggin trucks.
