What does a Flowmaster sound like on a 3rd gen
I am getting ready to put a flowmaster muffler on my 3500 and I was wandering if anyone has heard a 3rd gen with one or if anyone has a flowmaster on their truck. I would like some feed back on this and would really like soundbytes on vid clips if anyone has some. Ad deleted - please re-read the site rules

I don't think that the chambered muffler sound good on a diesel. They sound like they have a fouled plug or something weird.
I am also not sure how good the flowmaster actually flows. I would go with a straight through 4" muffler design. There are tons of them out there.

I know this is going to sound bad but I sell diesel performance stuff and all the companies I deal with recommend the flowmaster, but I've never heard one so maybe they don't know what they're talking about.

Flowmasters will flow plenty to feed a diesel-- *IF* you get one that's big enough. Not just inlet and outlet diameters, but internal flows.
You can't make a blanket statement that straight through is a lot higher flowing than a chambered muffler, because some straight through designs actually have poor flow.
My favorite muffler is the Spin Tech. They sound awesome, but I've never heard one on a diesel.
When I do exhaust, I'm planning to use a Spin Tech muffler.
