what clutch

Hey Guys,
Well I did some work to the daully and now were looking for a clutch. The TST Power Max made a big power increase, but now I need to get it to the ground. Looking for opinions on what clutch to buy. I don't plan on adding alot more power but am looking for something that has the ability to hold 500-600hp. I always have about 1 ton on the truck and I do tow a trailer from time to time. (About 15,000lbs) So what do you guys recommend?

Read My signature, I am running a SBC 3250 DD clutch in my rig and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Veru streetable and definitely puts the ponies to the asphalt!!!!!!!!!! Thanks SBC and to all the DTR!!!!!!

im gonna say get a south dbl disc and do it one time. you wont regret it. I ran an luk with a tst stacked on a power pup on my 05 it was replaced a couple times.

how much is a good clutch like that ? i think that might be the next mod .
i was thinking about a south bend . can you still slip them any backing up to a trailor if i had to ?

if it's in your budget, plan on around 2k or so I think for a dual disk. I've got a single south bend FE in mine, best single you can get. It's held what i've put to it so far with no slipping. I've read the dual disks are streetable and then i've read that they take long to shift if you're trying to speedshift. My FE is pretty grabby when taking off in second and trying to reverse. I don't trailer so I can't speak for backing a trailer, but I can imagine it could possibly be difficult.

I can shift mine fast enough that it feels like the tires are gonna break loose and it will throw my cell phone out of the hole in my dash.

Mine will hop in certain cituations if I am not careful but it really isnt a big deal. If worse comes to worse just put it in low range.

Definately get the DD if $ allows.

What is the cost?
is it ok to haul with it?
are here any others that are as good?

In the 2k range with hydros + or - 200 depending on where you go.
Yes, I have hauled with a 3250 and 3600.
Maybe but not in my book. SBC wrote the book on clutches.

Now if you look on their site they have 2 3250's. One was rated for 500hp and the other is for 600hp. Is that the differance between the sprung and un verisions? Because i'm in the same boat? Lookin for the best clutch and that threw me alil. There is a note for the 600hp that it may need the hydraulics. Can someone clear this up please. Sorry if i highjacked.

If you have a G56 it is recomended you get hydros with any aftermarket clutch.


I dont know why the one is rated for 550 and the other 600. They both have organic facings and both are 3250 plate load. Maybe one is a 6 button and the other is a 12, then again it may not even be a button style clutch if it is orgainic. Call SBC and report on what you find.

Just called peter a few min ago and it didnt quite make sense but i'll try. dd 3250 550hp is a organic and the dd 3250 600hp is a feramic sprung puck. But please dont quote me on that. He also would get the hydraulics with 600hp 3250. What he told me to order was the DD 3250 12 CD SPRING 56. Then HYDR.750 for the slave cylinder.

Cool info Templer. So the 3250, dd sprung, with organic facings does not need the hydraulic?

My 04.5 pedal was quiet. My 06 pedal makes a funny sound at times, like a scrunchy sound.
