MERCON will allow a little more power to get through the stock turbo compared to ATF-4. It "hooks" up more. You will notice the difference...firmer shifts...

i built a monster set of twins for james here in texas, he had a early tst box on it. the truck had 20k or so on it. he kept the box turned down to keep the tranny in one piece. when we took it for a test drive it blew through the tranny like you pushed in the clutch on a stick. and we still had the box turned down. you must be one lucky son of a gun.
