Hey now, I have 12k miles on it so far, and been pushing 400 with a right foot so heavy I limp for 11,000 miles, and my fluid is still cherry-red. I drop my tranny pan every 3,000 miles and change the filter, which is usually in good condition. Although at 550 the clutch in the converter doesn't like dragging the engine down when it locks up in OD anymore Tranny temps never got over 200, which isn't bad considering in mild stop-n-go it gets to 180-190 (ambient temp is usually 110)

I'm usually pretty crazy about maintenance. I've changed the tranny fluid (MERCON, not ATF+4... maybe some hydraulic fluid ) and filter at least 5 times. MCummings can swear about the stockness of my tranny, he's holding my money for the tranny. Personally I don't know how my tranny has survived to this point, and to be honest sometimes it hooks up HARD and other times it slips to 3,500rpm, but overdrive has NEVER given me a problem. Mine lag's at times between first and second. I've had it up to 220 degrees when I "hooked bumpers" in dirt and had 3 spinning in lockup in 2nd, then it got too hot, downshifted, and the temp rose hard. I drive around in tow-haul mode, and usually putz around with 1-2psi of boost. I've done at least 100 20psi 4wd launches. The first time my OD slipped was when it went from 3rd lockup to OD lockup, and even then the rpm's dropped to 2,400rpm. I'm used to getting one of the "factory freaks" my Mitsu lancer evolution 8 took more knock and survived minutes at a time with a pegged 2,400 degree pre-turbo pyro.
