Way slow from a stop full throttle

Does my 06 have a defueling option, maybe transmission saver? When you floor it from a stop it takes 50ft before it starts making power. Can remove it just for the track? Thanks

I use to hate the off the line performance too. I believe it is a feature that Dodge designed into the programming to save the driveline.

A common method for altering the feature is with a Smarty or another programmer. You can alter the torque settings from mild (stock) to being able to easily spin the tires and quickly do damage - if you're not careful.

Do a bit of research here on DTR and you'll find lots of information on the Smarty and other programmers available for your truck.

I read long ago that the 48RE couldn't handle the Cummins and Dodge built in a power limiter to help save the transmission.

But wait a minute.... Your sig says you have a Smarty..... That should override the CPU's control of the power and TC lock up shouldn't it?

We need an expert here...

It's called TQ management. You can change it with the Smarty but you will risk transmission damage if you abuse it. Are you sure your truck is starting off in first gear and not second. Another thing is the stock torque converty is not very efficient during fluid coupling when the TC is not locked up. Do some upgrades to the tranny and this will help with the issue.

I believe its starting in first gear. I have the torque management at 3 and the power programming at sw4. It doesnt bother just driving around, but I sold the motor out of my Trans Am and want to run my truck just to get my points. It just takes off so slow, if I can roll in the throttle its better but its hard to do trying to cut a light and getting over excited. Thanks for the help.

Its hard on the transmisson and driveline, but you could do boosted launches. Need gauges, but 5psi launch might help. Just throwing something out there for you.
