Water Wetter for Coolant Temp Decrease?
Anyone use water wetter additive in their coolant to decrease temperature? Perhaps it is called another name?
Any results?

I tried Redline water wetter and didn't really see a difference on the temp gauge. Redline claims a 10 degree drop, maybe, but my factory gauge didn't register a change.

the stuff just makes the coolant transfer heat better. with a 190 degree t-stat, it will stay at the normal operating temp. although it will transfer the heat more efficiently when pulling and temps start to climb

The stuff works great on racing applications with no t-stat. I have used it in many applications and the stuff does work don't get me wrong, it is just that the t-stat will stay closed longer to heat up the motor to the 190* it is looking for.

I run the water wetter in my chevelle, 10-15 degree drop in it. I just put some Purple ice in the truck. I'll find out if it does any good this weekend. I don't expect much difference running empty, but hope it helps pulling the hills while towing.

did i pull that out of my tail correctly? LOL.. That was my experience with rigs that still has the T-stat installed. it will stay closed longer, heat will go to where it wants and stay at the 190ish area while driving.

I've used both Water Wetter & Purple Ice in several vehicles; in every case the products performed as advertised, lowering monitored coolant temperature by at least 10*F (i.e. almost 20*F on the '98).
Since they lower the coolant's surface tension, the molecules are able to maintain closer contact with the inside of the water jacket (providing a more efficient heat sink for the cylinders) as well as the radiator's interior, so more heat can be transferred to the airstream per second.
