Vibration Damper

I was checking stuff out after I made some mods to my airbox ('04.5 and up size hole now and a gap to hopefully stop snowingestion.) I noticed some dried mud in my harmonic dampener. I also noticed that the rubber was starting to come out of the damper in a couple spots and at the end of the string of rubber was visible. What should I do? Get a fluidampr? Is it ok? I know they don't last forever. Should I find a low milage stocker for cheap and use it? I will try and take some pictures and upload them.

I've gone thru two stockers. They are junk for sure. I found a used one for $5 shipped so put it on and it lasted about 25k so I got the fluidampr. Do it once and forget it.

They say a fluidampr is a must with over 500hp. I just have limited funds so $435 seems unecessary on a 1 million mile engine but maybe just do it and forget it.

Thinking I may buy one of these as well. No tuner and stock but maybe it will make thing a bit smoother?
Does it make a big difference with the Fluidampr?

It's not a huge difference no. I needed it for one with tnt-r tune to rev higher, and I was towed home twice with the oem's so I bit' the bullet. I was actually lucky and found some that were made for bullydog that were discontinued, same as fluidampr with bd stickers. Got it for 200.

Not sure about the Cummins b series but I know for an absolute fact that a faulty balancer will cause the HPOP gear to loosen up and move on the shaft causing a instant shut down and no start. In some cases it will back off completely and ingest into the gear train and do some serious damage, like the one I just fixed to the tune of $3k.

That's been over a year ago so yeah. They were in a group buy from CPP. I will ask him if he would be able to do that again but I doubt they would be that price since those were discontinued.
