Very pleased w/ latest smarty update!!
I just got back from a 30 minute thrashing on my 05. I went from the October upgrade #2 (mild TM) to the newest upgrade, but this time #3 (moderate TM). I am extremely impressed. The smoke is definitely lower, even on the "more aggressive" tune, which is the best change in my opinion. I got tired of babying my truck everywhere I went in traffic to avoid smoking out the crowd behind me. The power feels the same, exactly the same. Same great response, same good power all the way to 3400-3500. This was the first time I really beat on the truck, particularly using 4WD. I am definitely sure I LOVE my SPEC Stage 3+ clutch kit...it grabs perfectly and barks all 4 on a 3rd gear granny shift!! Anyway, anyone w/ a smarty who is skeptical about going up to the new upgrade shouldn't worry about anything...it's all improvements 100%. The motor is a quieter with less rattle as well.
I am hoping to hit the local drag strip on Friday night to see what happens. I need to practice some launches, but thus far, it's not hard....1800 RPM with a quick release of the clutch and it comes out pretty hard...still a minor bog. I am a little worried throwing in more RPM, but that might be what it takes to get sub 2.0 60fts.
I'll post my results soon afterwards, assuming I get out there.

Once you return the truck back to stock, then download the driver and USB downloader from madselectronics.com. Once you've done that, pick the update file you want to use (there are 3 of them for the CR smarty right now). Simply plug in the smarty to the computer w/ a USB cable, open the USB downloader program, open the update file you downloaded, and click "send".

^^^he beat me to it, but here it is
1.Go to the page where the update is located.
2.Download the update of your choice.
3.Download the appropriate SMARTY tools driver from the same page.
4.Locate a USB2 standard cable (used on most ext harddrives and printers)
5.Connect Smarty
6.Run the Smarty tool driver utility
7.Select the file you downloaded
8.Click on update
The downloaded file is a compressed file. You will need to use WinZip or WinRar to unzip this file
I was told you do not have to return to stock before updating the Smarty???

That was much more thorough than my reply
I didn't even double check to see if you have to return to stock or not. All other programmers on the market require it to be returned to stock first, so I just followed suit without checking....another
