I have the VA 3.1 and I like it for towing very much. The power comes on at about 1500 rpm and pulls really good from there. I had an Edge EZ before the VA box and it didn't really come on until about 2000 rpm. It also helped my towing mpg by about 1.5 -2 miles per gallon on the middle setting. It has two settings the high is about 60 + horse and 200 ft lbs. of torque and the middle setting is about half of that. I'm really satisfied with it but as always alittle more would be better. Hope this helps.

My box on the higher setting is managable with exhaust and intake mods. I only tow about 6k so not a huge load. The lower level I never get over 1200 on any hill with the same load. I love my box and the smoothness!!!!

gdh11,

Sounds like you need to return it to the location you got it as it's probably defective for some reason. I can have it sent to the factory, but I have never heard of anyone having this problem before so I suspect it's got a problem.

couple questions on the VA.

Will the C3.1 and C3.2 stack?
I guess this should be a question for Quad. But i wonder if the C3.2 will stack with the new Quad timing box thats coming out in a couple months. seems this might be a good stack to keep those egts in check.

The VA C3.2 should stack with just about anything as it is a pretty dumb box. It really doesn't monitor many parameters to base it's fueling off of. It gets a signal and modifies it without knowing or caring what the signal is that it is getting. It does one simple thing...stretches the fuel pulse....and does it quite well. This is what makes it a really good stack with Quad's current boxes.

I bet that advancing the timing using the new adjustable crank sensor that folks are talking about would work really well with the VA and cool it a lot.

There are several VA C3.2s in the classifieds going for reasonable prices.
