use shock boots or not?
I just got my new 5100's and stabilizer. they all came with boots I don't care for them and would like to take them off. is this a bad idea?

Where I live the shock boots trap salty slush against the piston and that speeds corrosion (pitting the piston and rusting the shock body). If you don't use them, you risk sand and gravel hitting the piston (leading to similar pitting and rusting). Since the shocks are supposed to be replaced every few years, I don't think it really matters either way.
