urgent help needed

I am installing an quad commander and and standard x2 tow module. Problem is the commander has an extra unused green plug if I use the black/white leads on the quad main harness. I found an extra 12" separate wire in that has a green connector on one end and a plug to the x box on the other. If I use that the black/white wire coming off the quad main harness will not be used. Which way do I go? HELP. If any one has any ideas you can call me at (308)520-1353

I have already read all web instructions and my own booklet but neither says what to do or use for the extra connections.

Don't do anything with them. I think I ran into that same scenario (overthinking what the instructions were telling me)........

First make certain that the X2 is installed and runs. Are you using the control pod? If not, that could be one of the extra connectors. If you have the X2 completely installed, and it runs, then connecting the Commander is as simple as plugging into the harness. If you have made all the connections as described in the instructions (for the commander - not the X2), and you have some left over, then wrap them up and dont worry about 'em. Fire up the truck and see what it does.

I am using the commander. The truck runs but I dont think the xzt is working. The tech I talked to awhile back says the quad sticker on the black box will light up, it don't. I've tried the wires both ways with NO difference in the way the truck runs. The commander is working though with all readouts working properly. I did use the commander to change the power settings to 3 (65hp), No difference. Can I probe the box with a test light to check for power without hurting it.

Sometimes those wires get loose in the connectors from pushing/pulling them thru the firewall. If you have a tester, make sure all the connectors are good.

Which box do you have, the original XZT or the X2 - XZT version? Do you have the control pod? If so, try changing levels with that and see what happens.

x2 tow module #2002. I've tried everything, disconnect/reconnect make sure fit tight, good ground, I'll just go back to stock and call quad Monday. If they can't help, I'll just keep the commander and buy a SUPERCHIPS.

Also, Does the black x2 box have an indicator light that shows when it's working?
