My upper ball joints are shot too. I only have 50,000 miles on the truck but I just bought it and they were shot.
One of the sway bar end links has already been replaced with a greasable one so I might as well replace the other one while its all apart.
The inner tie rod is loose too.
My mechanic told me Moog was the way to go. I trust him 100% but I'm wondering if there is any heavier duty ones or not? The Carlis ball joints look pretty darn good. Do they make inner tie rods as well? Does Carlis have a lower ball joint too or just the uppers?

The Carli upper ball joints are huge compared to anything else out there !
My brother put the Moog joint in his 06,I have the Carli. His were coming apart when I looked at them this week end.........he has the Carli ordered now.
Carli has not done the lowers yet as they hold up much better than the uppers.

Question to those with worn out front ends: How does your truck drive/handle? I have over 85k, and seems to drive fine. The front end is all original too. But if it's worn out, I need to fix it!

Well I know my ball joints are bad, trying to justify spending $500 on the carli's. I can do the install, but the ball joint press might be hard to come by. No idea where to get one. My alignment is dead on, but the ball joint is SHOT on the passenger side and it drifts right. The steering wheel jiggles when going over bumps. When turning whichever side I am turning the truck just seems like it wants to flip over (and I don't turn very fast). The truck just drives like crap, and I'm afraid it would cost me thousands to fix . I just wish there was some kind of upgrade to the front end that was guaranteed. I know if I redo it all, it will be shot again in 40k miles.

Searched the web, Carli article stating that the lower ball joints are in prototype stage
Maybe i should return my turbo and get new upper and lower ball joints! (apparently it'd be the same price)....no thanks....
Sorry, i just cant wrap my brain around the pricing of this particular product....$7-$10k for a top of the line lift - no problem, $5k for twins - no problem, $1.2k for F1s - no problem....but $500 for ball joints - NFW!

Really, $550 for the upper ball joints...they better be good, they cost a fortune....might be worth it if you spend all the time in the desert / offroad....i just drive to work....i've got a lot better things to spend $'s on than ball joints....i actually like the carli stuff from the looks of it, love modding the truck..but at some point it just gets stupid....and for me personally, $500 ball joints are clearly in that cateogory...

They won't. Maybe a little longer, if you keep them greased. But they are guaranteed for life, so who cares, just go get another set.
I think the root of this problem is the parts are just too small for the weight of the truck. I haven't seen the Carli's but I assume they address this issue much better than the rest.
