Is there a driver to run the SMARTY update on windows vista? I would like to get the new SW's and my laptop has Vista operating system. any help would be apreciated

Well I would ask Bob or email Marco/Mads. Our experience with Vista at work is many things are iffy when it comes to drivers and existing software. You can always try the USB Serial drivers that is on the Mads site. Follow the instructions the same and then just try plugging in the Smarty and see if Vista sees a new USB device and needs the drivers.

use te drivers on markos site and all will be good.

Using it too with no problems. Well the computer didn't acknowledge the device, so I backdoor'd it with Bob's help. That bunch has the best dang customer service!

I still can't get the update done for some reason. I downloaded the cdm 2.00.00.zip and unzipped it to a new folder and I downloaded the smartyUSB.exe, then I don't know what to do from there. any help would be great.

Do I need to download the 7z software to be able to open the SW update? Does anyone know.

yes and call if you need help 888 225 7637 but the software and driver need to be extracted with 7zip software/

does the 7z software work on vista? it says it is for XP. Thank for the reply Bob, if 7z will work on vista then I think I am close.

do you know what version of the 7Z? there is the normal and the beta, and the .exe and the .msi, I am not sure what the difference is. thanks.

I was able to do all my Smarty updates on my Vista Laptop. No problems at all.
