I recently updated to the new 4.11 and now I no longer have high idle. I know for sure it worked when stock, I don't remember if I ever needed high idle when I had 2.05 on it. Is there a way to activate it? I have tried the cruise control thing but it didn't work, but I don't know if it is suppose to work with the 6 speeds. Any help is appreciated. Tac

 

It will work on your truck you just need to ground Pin #22 or buy a clutch switch from Cummins. Do a search on High Idle with manual tranny.

Because the manual high idle has never worked without it. The auto High Idle does when the temps are low enough and the truck sits idleing for 2 min. with anyone touching the fuel pedal or brake.

 

The high idle DID work before the smarty programming. That is why I am confused. Sorry for the misunderstanding. So is it a programming issue with smarty?

 

let me get this straight?? Your high idle....the one you HAVE TO USE the cruise control too set, worked on your truck without the clutch grounding pin?? That doesnt sound right....could you idle at 1300 or 1000??

 

Now, my truck when the temp was cold enough would automatically idle at 1000 after a minute or two if you didn't touch anything.
