Updated dyno numbers and graph for you guys

Made three runs the other day down at pfi in fort collins. Truck made 588 hp but the torque numbers were not reading right. I am pretty sure the truck has got more in it with the current setup cause I was only able to get out 38 psi out of turbo on the dyno.

Stats from the runs are:

All runs were with smarty tnt revo, software 7, torque management 4, timing 0, rail pressure 4

Run 1: 574.70 hp, max egt 1450, boost held at 36 psi, rail pressure topped at out 26 k. This run was without using the brake to try and build up some more boost

Run 2: 588.59 hp, max egt 1589, boost held at 38 psi, rail 26,900. This run was using the brake early on to try and get boost up a little. We were able to get the gauge to show 40 psi of boost, but as soon as I the brake was let out it dropped.

Run 3: 552.48 hp, max egt was 1619, boost held at 35 psi, rail 26k. Really used the brake to try and get boost up on this run. Saw a tick over 40 on the boost gauge, but then it really dropped down on me. Did not even get a good graph of that run it was so bad.

Those are nice numbers.

If you have a stock CP3... you may squeeze a bit more hp out of it by trying tq2 instead of tq4. You will lose some of your bottom end torque, but you will not be taxing your injection pump so hard early on, that it cannot catch up later. You may lose more boost also, just keep on tuning.

Yeah that makes sense. Next time I go down there I am just going to pay for an hour to do more testing and tuning. I wanted to run the same settings from when I was down there last time that way I had something to compare to.

Hey, I only got 554 with that turbo before we traded. Guess she's liking your truck a little better. I had the same problem getting the boost up and also I tried 9,7,then 5 and got my highest numbers on 5 with my 140k stock cp3. Not much but it helped me get another 10 hp by trying the lower setting. Nice numbers, I will let you know what I see after the floorit diy kit gets on here.

Drop the 35's and put on some 265's and your tq # will go UP! I dropped 4/10 off my 1/4 and gained 38# TQ and 7 HP.

Yeah I am not that worried about the numbers to swap out the tires. If I had an old set laying around I would probably do it, but I only have the 35's.

Brian, I am glad to hear you had the same problem gettin the boost up. I was beginning to wonder if I had a leak somewhere that I didnt know about. How is your truck liking that bullet?

Yeah. But all the runs were pretty smokey. I know the truck is gettin enough fuel to make more power. Just need to get the boost up. Next time I am back to see the family in Nebraska I am going to try and get on the dyno there. Might be a little difference in numbers going from 5,000 feet to about 600 feet above sea level.

I adjusted the boost elbow, it was only getting 37 psi and now it will get to 52. I wish I would of went bigger long ago. This thing is pretty easy to keep spooled with a manual. I was worried about towing with it but it is pretty close to the same spoolup with the 62 before the headwork. I am gonna send it back to industrial to get it checked out because when you sent it, it was like new with no in/out play and now I checked it the other day and it is moving in/out about a 1/16". Let us know how the elevation changes your dyno#'s and boost on the dyno. I was always curious.

I get the most power out of the following settings:

Smarty #7
TQ Mgnt #1
Railpressure #2
Timing #2

I really think you will see more power for timing #2

Yeah I need to get on the dyno and play with the settings more. I just wanted to run the same settings from the last time I was down there.
