Question Ultimate computer/access/guages system??? Going OCD NEED help...

Hello everyone:

It has been about 2 years since I have been on this site but I never forgot how much help I got here. My truck has changed and I now own a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 6 speed HO diesel.

The question I have for everyone is I am looking to do a few things at once. I would like a turbo timer, hooked into a pyrometer, hooked into a computer control, boast meter, and the list goes on.

So after 4 hours of being OCD and searching the web I can not find anything that goes together nicely.

What I would love is one controller that I can change my engine performance, shut down my engine (turbo/temp timer), idle RPM control when parked, monitor exhaust temp, etc etc etc

I would rather spend $1k today and install it all at once, then $200 at a time and have things all over my truck cab. Would love a simple touch screen that does everything I need.

PLEASE HELP..... Has anyone out there found the perfect system??? Our at least 2 or 3 separate things that work together well????

My eyes hurt I have found nothing "great". All ideas would help. Please include websites or names so I can find the deals and name brand products.

Lastly let me just mention that the truck is uses MOSTLY for work around town. Short trips, lots of in and out, hauling heavy loads at times, but mostly just running around town and doing work at different sites. I do plow in the winter not a lot just a few lots for my job.....

Oh yeah anyone know of good, protective, worth while mud flaps/splash guard?????

Hope this helps!!

Or, if you want something you'll never grow out of, look at a TST PMCR w/ R49 remote. All the power you could ever want, pyro, boost, boost-limiting, egt-backdown, turbo cool-down, etc.

I am putting a computer in cab so I can see what is going on. I just have to find the right software to run it.

alright alright..... Like I said been a few hours searching on this **** laptop and my eyes hurt.....

I will send all a boast meter as soon as I get this other problem solved.... Will look a little like:

BTW this TST powermax is looking nice thanks for the thought. Will have to call them tomorrow to see if they can walk me through everything it does but seems to be close to what I am looking for.... Minus the boast meter of course.....

What else is out there?

Oh yeah and who has what splash guards? Anything nice/special? Pictures??

Bump.....

No one else has ideas about the perfect set up with a one time install. Just want to get all the parts, plug them in at once, not have a million *****/buttons/gauges in my cab, and have a simple look with control of everything.

TST looks good as it has the "chip" as well as gauges and "turbo timer".

What else would all you pros wished you had installed sooner or together if you knew better and had hindsight????

There's no easy to enable high idle on an 04.

Even though the TST has a turbo timer, gauges, and adds alot of hp and adjustability its stuck in the 20th century when it comes to its display and ease of going through functions while driving. There's alot of settings and takes quite a bit of tuneing to get it just right, definetly not for beginners.

So to save you more hours searching there is not an all in one unit like you want.

Some come close but none hit a home run.

Most of us take our time and pice together exactly what we want.

I gotta have analog gauges on my A pillar. I also have a Smarty downloader to add power, change speedo for larger tires, clear and check codes. If the TST had a better GUI and wasnt $800 I would for sure buy it. The TST is geared more for high performance and is overkill if all you want is 60hp and some gauges.

Edge, Quad, and Bullydog all make fancy touch screen's but dont think they have everything you want.

I think you'd be alot happier with one of thoes 3 then a TST.

I have had a number of boxes and downloaders. The Edge Juice/Attitude is a good product, but limited in growth and real flexibility. Quad has good products, but need mutiple items and some tapping. Downloaders have no real monitoring, cool down, etc. Bully Dog is an option, but I did not like downloader or really the monitor.

The TST R49 has everything I want in one box. It does take a little understanding of the options, but control and flexibility is as good or better than any I know of. Has best Cool Down timer options I have seen. Can be set to add pressure or not, switch programs with a few button pushes. Has basic protection options, etc.

Just my .02.
