One more question, what settings do you run your TST PMCR at? Does it get hot in a hurry? Ok two questions

Sledhead,

I just got them on the truck last weekend, but so far so good. I've been taking it easy on them to be sure to break them in good, but I've started playing some. I went straight from the stock turbo to the twins, and it's clear the truck drives quite a bit differently. The the stock turbo I ran level 4 on the edge and 3-3 on the TST. At that setting I would be crossing 1300 deg at the top of 5th gear and would bury the pyro (1600) in 6th at WOT with the boost at ~36psi. With the twins on the same fueling setting the pyro is about 1150 at the top of 5th (about 40 lbs boost), and it goes to maybe 1200-1250 at WOT in 6th (about 45 lbs boost... spikes to almost 50 on the shift). The EGTs are actually hotter under mild acceleration by 100-150 degrees and they have a little lower boost, too. When going to WOT from a cruise or standing stop the EGTs go to about 1100 or so pretty quick while the turbos spool but then the gauge just stops... it's pretty neat. The top end cooling seems to be MUCH improved, and the truck pulls much harder & smoother up top. They sould absolutely SICK spooling up.... the sound alone is worth the cost & install time!! With the box on lower settings (TST) the turbos are a little laggy, but, to be fair, they are a LOT bigger, so they need the fuel to help them spool. I've only got up to level 4-4, and they spool almost as good as the stock charger did on 3-3. I haven't dynoed yet, but I plan to at the Scheid rally in a couple of weeks. My head is still stock, so I'm trying to keep my boost down until I can get some studs in it. On 4-4 it will hit 50+ pounds of boost if I stayed in it hard, but I'm a little leary of it until I get the head strapped down better. I hope this helps some... let me know if you have any other questions.

John

Johner congrats on the new twins. Did you use a second gen exhaust manifold? I just built a set for a guy in AZ. He is running a pmcr stacked with a ez plus dd2s for fuel. I will let you know how they work out. Look forward to seeing your set up. I will probably not make it to Schieds this year but maybe to your NC event in December. Tim

Hey Tim,

Yeah, I'm using the 2nd gen 3 piece turned over. That sucks you can't make it up to the rally, but we'll catch ya at another one.
