MPI has the lock down on the twins it seems. I have some twins but Rick Lance did all my plumming for the. He is the mod at Diesel Place. He did a very good job on my piping. I already had the turbo's. Call Nate at MPI he will hook you up.

That is the holy grail of CTD and turbos!!! Lots of combos to be had out there without any empirical evidence as to which is better/best. There are a lot of opinions though. One thing I can comment on with some accuracy is that the mods a truck has will make different sets react differently-- just like the same mods on different trucks do different things. And another is that because a turbo makes a really good single, doesn't mean it will be good in a set of twins. And the last thing is... just because a particular turbo was good as a secondary with "model x primary" doesn't mean it will be worth a hoot with "model y primary". That is why lots of tuning goes on...
Just do some good old fashioned research and enjoy!

while we are on the subject of twins

For twins i understand that you need a second gen ex. manidold.....
1.) do i have to use a 3 piece manifold ?
2.) useing a 2nd gen ex. manifold do i need to run a 2nd gen turbo for the top turbo or will a 3rd gen turbo work?

sorry to thread hijack!

MPI all the way.... I love mine...

fj to answer your questions

1.. no...
2. no too...

My twin set up is the stock turbo on top and then a s400 on the bottom... Vroom Vrooom!!! Nathan in my opioion(mpI) is the only way to go... Relentless is about the same but no where near the fit and finish!!

What do you consider "big power"? The stocker/S400 setup seems to handle 600hp pretty easily and spools like stock with aftermarket fueling.

Definitely give Nathan @ MPI a call before you buy anything. He's really done his homework when it comes to twins (and turbos in general).

the oil return of the bottom turbo uses the stock existing return and the new "top" turbo uses a return in the front of the motor where you need to knock out a freeze plug... Don't ask me how i know that!!! and don't punch it trough and into your oil pan!!! you have to remove the whole motor to take the oil pan off!!!!Un less your lucky enough to get it out with a magnet!!!
