I would not think it would be an issue. I have my probe pre, and I shut down based on that. You may have to adjust the temp on the monitor to get it where you want.

Shouldn't be a problem as it will be consistant at idle. The reason the probe post-turbo is not generally done is because the temps go up exponentially after 30 psi.
