This is in 4th gear half throttle because egts are getting high, have more power but cant use it cause my egts. Can anyone explain what is going on or why. what can i do to get ride of this cause for what i know i dont think its good. Is it maybe just to much weight going up long step hills. Thanks

Dumb question but is your air filter clean? Sure hope your not losing a turbo. Someone else with much more knowledge than me is sure to chime in.

So no power adders?

If not you should be able to floor it without egt issues, especially with the technicooler and afe.

Downshift and see where that puts your rpms, 1650 is pretty low, it you hit 3rd you would be turnin 2000+ I think but should help egts, 1225 aint to high on egts though.

tried it with and with out the bullydog triple dog this week seemed. The bdtd kept me cooler alittle longer but still ended up the same by the top of the hill. Without any power adders my egts will almost climb as fast as my boost gauge well maybe not that fast but alot faster than i would think it should with the intercooler and afe someone from ats told me that the exhaust manifold is smaller on the 06 so it will spool up faster and is causeing high egts

Mine will do that too,, it is a case of learning how to drive around that rpm,, it is caused by a unbalance of air, to and from the turbo.
I just increased my hp so that I never hit that rpm, I like to pull in overdrive all the time and at 1950 it will do it on mine

Putting on the new turbo is what cured my egt problem. I dont think your weight is an issue, especially if it isnt a 5er, the problem with a 5er is the wind resistance. The only time through that whole last trip did my egts get even remotely high was when I had to drop into 3rd and then it would over rev. Hence now the extra hp to help eliminate the need to drop out of overdrive
