I recently bought a 2006 Mega cab from a private owner. He had a Bully Dog tuner and said that he had either misplaced it during a move or let a freind borrow it and said he had put the truck back to stock before he moved.

Question #1
How can I tell if he actually did put it back to stock? I have taken it to a dealer and they said they would not know unless they saw an over boost code or something like that.

I am looking at buying a Smarty Jr. from a private party. He said he has used it once and then sold his truck. If he had not put the truck to stock before he sold it would the tuner be useless to me on my truck?

If the previous owner of my truck did not put it back to stock and I am running on a Bully Dog setting. Will the Smarty Jr. work anyway?

#2 smarty vin locks to the truck. . if it is not uninstalled then you can't load to another. . . .

It would only take a second to hook the Smarty to your truck and see if it will recognize it. If it does your good to go!
