TST R49 with regular flash?

TST R49 with regular flash?
Swapping my Quad Race for the TST. Questions. All you guys with the regular program on the TST. I gather that the regular program won't come in until the engine makes 12 psi of boost. Is this true? What about the torque enhancement mode? Does it not come in until 12 psi either? I was wondering if it was dead (like stock) until 12 psi? I asked TST if I should just go ahead and get the twins program even though I still have the stock turbo. They told me that the twins program just did'nt perform well with the stock turbo. I just plan to run on lower settings and limit fuel and boost until I get some twins or a large single. TST did'nt really say in what way the engine would'nt perform well. I really just don't want to stack a pressure box with the TST. I figure one of the good things about the TST is that it does'nt add fuel pressure. Looking for info and opinions. Thanks!

I'm running the standard program. Kind of laggy on the bottom (under 12psi) but the BDDL took care of that. Now that I have a SPS 66, it's even slower to spool. I don't mind as the BDDL and Ramifier build boost quickly.
With a stocker, I'd stay with the standard program. The twins flash on a stock turbo will be like driving a 2-stroke.

Thanks for the reply JC. I was kinda concerned about the "laggy on the bottom" thing. The Quad feels pretty good down low. I guess I will just get used to it in time. In your opinion with just the TST on by itself, does your truck feel stock under 12 psi or is there a noticable difference from stock(hope so!)? As I said I really dont want to stack if I can get by without it. Thanks again!

03, Keep the quad and run it on the lowest setting with the TST and run the TST on medium to low settings. It is a little laggy if you start from Idle but with higher torque settings 12psi comes pretty fast as does 38psi. Without a clutch you aren't gonna gain too much except a lot less pressure to make the power. You are gonna be way short on fuel if you don't get an aftermarket lift pump. ks

Thanks ABC. I think I will try the TST by itself first. I am a little hesitant to stack the Quad with the TST due to the Quad adding timing as well. Sounds like if I run the TE on 3 or 4 the boost will quickly climb to 12psi. Am I correct that the TE will actually fuel under 12 psi and that is what is getting the quick rise in boost.

You can turn the TE up but fueling is still boost-dependent.

Also you better have your boost elbow adjusted correctly or you will have a blown turbo quick, my first experience with this stack on the high levels resulted in a very burried 35PSI boost gauge and a puckered rearend. on anything higher than 2-1 the boost will go from 10-35+ in an eyeblink. Ive been running this stack for about 5000 miles now and ran the quad for about 15000 with no problems except the clutch slipping on the higher levels.
Hope this helps

Thanks all! Just got it installed today. So far so good. Smooth power. The only problem I had is that there was no boost elbow in the TST parts I recieved. Called TST and they told me that with the R49 they limit the boost with the amount of fuel so I could temporarily just remove the stock boost elbow and plug it then plug the wastegate hose with a bolt until they could send me there boost elbow. They advised me to just run the boost control setting on 35psi. I cant seem to get the remote to go any lower than 35psi? TST tech dept was very helpful. Truck seems to run fine this way. I wont be agressive until I get the elbow on and then not over 4/4 I think. Southbend FE, Pusher pump, Turbo here I come!!!
