TST PM CR vs. Edge Juice / Attitude

I hope this hasn't been debated... becasue if it has, I sure couldn't find the thread. Did a few searches, read what I could find.

I'm fed up waiting for Edge to get off their (censored) and get a Juice/Attitude out for my 03 (305/555). I like the TST box, but it's UGLY. However, it appears to have a lot more adjustibility than the Attitude, based on what I've read here on DTR.

I'm not out for maximum power. I want to improve drivability, maybe improve mileage (ha!), and have some more power for general purpose and also for towing. I don't want to upgrade my transmission (at least not beyond a TC and even then I'd rather not).

My last truck (01 6sp) was pretty hopped up... had DD3s, DD UPM, HX40, 4" exhaust, Southbend Clutch and lots more. I don't want to go all out on this one. I like the PMCR and Attitude for the built-in guages and ability to defuel if needed. I almost went cross-eyed keeping one eye on the EGT guage all the time on my 01.

Anyway... so now I'm thinking about the TST box. I realize I may need an exhaust system and cold air intake in any case, but I don't want to go beyond the box and those two other mods.

All input is appreciated.

I'd wait for the Edge or go with a Bully Dog Downloader and Outlook Monitor. It's much like the Attitude. The TST is too much for a stock 48RE and unless you have more willpower than anybody on earth you will nuke the tranny.

you wont be able to use all the power the box is capable of
without tranny mods, twin turbos, lift pump, intake, exhaust, etc.

the bully dog downloader or the TS ramifier may be a better fit if all you want to do is plug in and not do all the other stuff

Well FWIW back when I had my DD UPM with the Hot Chip, I ran in 2 all the time, except when towing when I'd drop to 1. I almost never ran in a higher power mode because there was too much smoke and EGTs jumped too fast.

Still, I'll research the Downloader/Outlook too. Thanks!

Rob,

From what you say you are after, and the research I've done, I'd recommend the PowerPup. Of course buying the combo with the Outlook is more cost effective than buying them separately too, and that way you can keep and eye on things and set de-fueling points for extra protection. And that's in addition to watching for transmission slippage.

Another bonus is having DTC info available.

Not the most extreme setup known to man, but then again you aren't looking for that. Clean and easy install, and safe too.

If you feel safe without gauges, you can get just the Pup minue the Outlook. But knowing your past with the Camaro, I don't think that would be what you'd opt for (and wisely so).

Check into it, and let me know if I can be of assitance on that. And I appreciate letting me help you out on the Bilsteins. BTW, this might help: http://www.bullydog.com/products.pl?group=E-D-E

I don't have it on my truck yet (still breaking in, only 12k miles) but it's the way I'm going to go when the time comes. FWIW.

Look into the pup and outlook tst are a little extreme and most power is built on the high end. I have sold many of the combo's and most seem to be happy with performance and gas mileage gains some seeing 2-3 mpg
