how is the boost psi read on a TST r49 for a 04. i dont see any plastic tubeing or anything is it electronic?

Yes the TST reads boost from MAP/ECM. It is limited to the MAP electronics and in my instructions it states it will not read boost over 40psi.

BTW I can verify it will not read accurate boost over 40psi even if you are producing 55psi.

i have a mechanical boost guage so that will tell me the actually boost psi right? and the TST moniter will only read up to 40psi right? what does the boost elbow that comes with the chip do i see it has a little plug is that for if i wanted to put another mechanical guage in or something?

Yep the r49 will only read 40-42 psi. The boost elbow just keeps the wastegate closed longer so you get some higher boost numbers. I ran my stock turbo for a year with a TST mp8 but I didnt put in the boost elbow. I could see 35psi even with the wastegate opening at 21 psi. I bet if i would have put on the elbow my little stocker would have died along time ago.
