I'd love to see a write up on this Wardy if you replace your pressure relief valve. You are describing my problem to a tee.

I just called Industrial Injection, to test that pressure relief valve you must take the line completely off because of a return line coming from the cp3 will just shoot fuel I took the line clear off and no fuel was coming out of the rail. Cody at Industrial Injection said that it still could be bad above 10,000 psi and opening to soon. He also said we could keep throwing money at it and never hit it. I will also tell you they sell the pressure relief valve for 250 and can modify them for more pressure if needed. A stock releif valve from dodge is $770 and from Cummins is $485 so industrial is definately the place to go. I guess Im going to take it to a diesel injection place local that my buddy knows and says they do good work and let them put it on the scanner. We are starting to talk about some pricey parts and I would hate to buy somethong that wont fix. I will update when I know more.I also took out the cascade valve on the side of the CP3 and it looked fine cleaned it and reinstalled it. Still not right, with the edge on 5 and the low fueling adjustment all the way up I can not make the thing smoke at all and it is down on power.

I checked for boost leaks today found a couple loose clamps so I went through them all, pressurized the system and everything looked good. Went for a drive and it felt the same. So I went back to the pressure relief valve, disabled it and drove around, same thing. Out of ideas at the moment.

Is your wastegate wacked? I have killed 2 OEM electronic wastegates with fueling boxes...and one spun OEM bearing.
Drive around with a DRB and see if your intake air temps vs after inercooler temps seem in wack too. Maybe its a sensor problem upstream???

The edge has been taken out and sent back they said they would look at it. I just got it back the other day they sent me someone elses datalink cable so they are sending me another one so I really cant give any boost numbers until I get it. It ran really sick in stock. The wastegate is a idea when I pinched the line for the waste gate it acted a little better, but not much. How else could I check it?

Wardy70, you'll need to check to see what type of fuel pressure that you have coming into the CP3 & the rail pressure. This way you can rule out the lift pump & check to see if the issues are with the CP3 or possible injectors.

You can't really trust what the juice is telling yu since it is reading it from the MAP sensor. My attitude monitor rings out at 35 while my mechanical gauges sings to 55psi. Might want to throw a mechanical gauge in there.

Administrator ........ DTR's puttin fires out and workin on big trucks admin
I installed the Air Dog 100 to eliminate any lift pump problems, my boost guage is a direct tie into the intake. The boost issue is now intermittent on my truck, as to why, I don't know as of yet. I completely removed the Quad xzt, so thats out of the equation, the truck will boost to 20-22 psi then next time I run it at wot it will boost 28-30 psi. The puzzling part is even at lower boost levels the truck runs the same, it accelerates hard no matter what the boost is at.

I noticed that also, the truck does not run that bad down low, it is when you get up above 25psi of boost it just wont go. When you haul a big trailer that is where you at a lot. As far as all of this goes the truck will not smoke at all, with the low fueling adj. all the way up it will not smoke.
