Truck running bad. HELP!!!
Well I just got done putting a new trans cooler on my truck today cause the other went out. Truck ran fine all day and got to my house. Went out later and started backing out my driveway and truck started running really rough and popping and it died. I checked the code. It was P0192 " Fuel Pressure Sensor Voltage too low" anyone got any ideas? I turned the smarty on stock and took the tst off. I also unplugged my quadzilla rp gauge and its still doing it. Once you put it in gear it starts studdering and dies.

How do you narrow it down to find out exactly which it is?? No fuel in my oil so injectors are fine. When you crank it up just rattles bad like a 12v and trips a code right away.

I noticed when driving it home today the rp was fluctuating up and down a little.. Also when the stock was on all stock settings about 2wks ago when I would floor it it took quite some time for the rp to max out at about 22k

Last month I had the rough Idle and the p0192 code as well.....mine did not die though. I bought a new fuel pressure sensor and it fixed the problem. I can't say it enough though......buy it at the local cummins supply, its about $300 cheaper. Not sure if it makes a difference but mine is an 06....I would think they are the same.

I'm not sure on checking the sensor, but you can remove the FCA from the back of the CP3 and it should have a "rattle" to it when you shake it. If it doesn't rattle then the valve inside is sticking and it should be replaced. That may help narrow it down.
Let us know what you find.

if it still acts like that with the quad rail gauge unplugged then it's either the fuel pressure sensor or a shorted wire..........that's my guess anyway.....first measure voltage.. you need to have 4.5-5.5 volts when measuring voltage on the supply and return circuits of the rail sensor plug(while unplugged from the sensor)...if you do clear the code plug the harness back into the sensor...then turn the ignition on...and go out and unplug the harness again....if the code comes right back it's the FP sensor......clear as MUD?????

Clear the codes, apply dielectric grease to all the connections, and disconnect the batteries overnite. My truck idled very rough on occaision and what do you know a week later the RP gauge dies on me. I think it could be the culprit on code trippers, just being on once is enough.

Ok so clear the code with my smarty and then with the key on the run position go unplug the rail sensor plug and if the code comes back then its the sensor thats bad?? Do I crank the truck or just put the key on the run position?
