Truck Dead!!

All right yestaurday I was going to my girlfriends house and decide I would run my truck pretty hard. It was all ready up to engine temp and everything was fine. Well I start from about a 20mph role and get going take it to about 105mph them boom and loud blast from somewhere I couldn't tell then nothing but white smoke out the exhaust and truck is dead. I look down at my monitor and the egts are in the 1450 range but maybe for only 5-10 secs. then after that went off the water temp is going nuts at about 230. Well coast it into my girlfriends driveway and nothing. Try to start it nothing but white smoke. So I tow it home and get looking at it this morning and when I crank it over after I took the pyro out it is shooting water out of the pyrometer hole and into the exhaust. So much water with 5 secs of cranking it I have probably a 2by3 foot puddle on the trailer. I was thinking that I dropped a injector at first but now I am thinking a blown head or intake gasket or cracked head. What are you guys thinking by the way absoltutly no codes are being thrown.

What kind of boost PSI were you seeing? Sounds like a blown head gasket to me! May have lifted the head with too much boost. Oh well, time for a new gasket and studs anyhow right!?

Uh-oh... really sorry man, that sucks. That is not good on any level but your second guess is probably the right one... the headgasket. That would be my first guess...

I am sure others will be more help to you. And I hope that is ALL it is...

Well all I have is a edge so the most I could posibly see or have ever seen on the gauge is 36 and have max boost set for 40 before it defuels I would think that would be safe boost levels. How much do you think I am looking at in repairs or what else would it take out when it goes?

if it is the HG you should have oil in your radiator. It sure sound like a HG with the water coming out but, very well could be other things. You saw 1450 on the gauge but, it was much hotter than that in the engine. It'd inspect the injectors real good too. I do hope you only have to replace the HG cause the rest isn't cheap to fix!

I have no idea how to answer those questions for you. I'll defer the answer to the better minds here amongst us. Yeah, the boost levels should be safe ones, so who knows what caused it. So is it your brothers truck? (with the edge) or yours? (your sig says you have Crazy Larry)

QUIT CRANKING! Or you will have bent internals...

Sounds like you hydrolocked your motor with coolant...blown headgasket.

Was your gauge hooked into the MAP sensor itself, or into something else?Need the monitor hooked in first to get actual readings. You may have been seeing fooled boost!

it's the 05 with no crazy larry. It bis also very possible I was seeing fooled boost. I did crank on it for about a minute or so to see if it would run and get on the trailer but thats all I cranked on it. there is no oil in the coolant or oil that I can see.

Take off the mods and head to the dealer....it is under warranty isn't it!....It is probably the headgasket....with stock turbo it is hard to pop the head gasket....I think you may be the first....what were the defuelings set to 1450egt.... Just make sure that you tell the dealer the truth about you towing the Maximum GCWR load up the long hill.ks

Well got the news back today endend up I poped the head gasket but it also hyrolocked the engine and took out the turbo as well. So they pretty much told me that I need a new engine. I have to take them all my service records tomorrow and they have to call a cummins rep. to come look at it.
