Trimming Fenders

Ok so I have a 2.5 inch leveling kit. I was wanting to go with the helo maxx 8's 20X10 which have around 5inches of backspacing. And I wanna do prolly the mickey thompson baja atz's 35X13.50's. I have some friends around here that run them and they seem to like em and I like the looks. Anyways I know im gonna have to trim some stuff.. mY question is what is the best way to go about this and how much will i need to remove?? Anyone with pics?? before and after would b awesome or just after.. Thanks

I really should've taken better pictures, but was more concerned about getting the job done at the time. I've got 3" lift in front, and 17x9 wheels with 5.71" backspacing. When I mounted the 37 x 13.50 Toyo MTs, I couldn't turn at all without major interference.

So, after a couple hours with a cut-rock, little sledge hammer, paint, heat gun and plastic welding kit for the fender flares, I have clearance with full articulation.

This is a picture of the other side, that kindof gives you an indication of how much I cut the fender, and rolled it back...probably 1 1/2 - 2".

Basically a very hot heat gun and a plastic filler rod.

Here are some on ebay-http://motors.shop.ebay.com/items/pl...asticQ20welder

Yeah, it's a fancy heat gun, with selectable temperature, and fan speed. You have to match the type of plastic rod to the material you're welding...I used ABS rod for mine.

It's a little tricky at first to make sure you're getting good penetration of the base material, but not too bad. It was my first time, and you can't even tell they've been modded if you didn't know.
