Transmission Pan & Diff Covers

I was wondering...is it difficult to install an aftermarket transmission pan like a Mag-Hytec, or is it just a simple "drain the oil unbolt and install new?".

I have an 06 Ram Megacab automatic 4-speed. From the Mag-Hytec website (http://www.mag-hytec.com/install.htm) I can't tell which instructions would apply to my truck.

I was thinking of buying the set and I know the rear diff is easy and expect the front to be the same. But the transmission pan...?

It's easy. It is no harder to install it than to reinstall the stocker.

Just drain the old pan, remove old pan, bolt up the new Mag-Hytec pan, fill & drive. Maybe takes 1/2 an hour total.

Same as when you replace your diff. covers, drain the fluid by loosening enough bolts to start draining then when it's done be careful as there will still be fluid in each item. After you install the after market pan/cover, it'll be easy to change fluids by using the drain plugs!!!

how do you know if your rear end is a 10.5 or 11.5? I am ordering a ddpan and a rear diff cover but I don't know which rear end I have. Looked on the inside of door and owners manual...must've missed it.

Also, the manual says the lsd does NOT need that friction additive. Is that right? What oil should I run. I don't mean brand but weight. 75/90, 75/140 etc. What about the tranny?
