Transmission ??

I want yall's opinion on this. I am thinking of starting a tc, vb, etc fund for when the time comes. If i'm abl rto purchace and install before the trans goes out or should i wait till it goes and have all the parts installed while its being rebuilt?

Also, does anybody know what actually goes out in a tranny when they do go bad? any particular part more so than any other?

Thanks fo rany input.

Jason

there alot that could happen, TC could melt to the flywheel, could blow up and send metal throughout your trans. shafts could break...ect I did mine before it went bad...

The NORMAL failures seen in teardowns are clutch failures. (causes: too many shifts, overheating, lack of sufficent servicing, seal failures, not in any order)
Next might be converter failures. (causes: too many heavy cycles, overheating, TC clutch failure from warping, cracking, or disintergating, excessive stall time)
Next might be VB and electrical failures. (causes: things happen)
Last may be carnage. (causes: Improper operator demands)
Or a combination of above in most any order.
Recomendations for long life: Service properly and operate reasonable and don't overload.
