Trans. oil temp gauge Question
Hello
I just received the gauges for my wifes truck and will be installing them this weekend.
I want the oil at the hottest possible point. On her 99 3500 I plumbed in a "T" block where the fluid came out of the trans on it's way to the coolers.
Can I do the same with the new truck?? Which line did you tap into?? It was easy on the 99 because it had a small cooler before it went to the one up front. and of course the other line was the return for the cooler fluid How did you install your gauge?
Thank you
See Ya
Chris

Hello
Thanks for all the veiws.
I crawled under the truck tonight after work and anwsered my own question.
If anyone else is thinking about hooking up a trans temp gauge. Yes there are trans lines coming out of the trans and into a cooler before going up to the cooler up front. They are located on the drivers side on the 3rd gen trucks. I will be getting a 1/2 "T" block and fittings and install everything this weekend.
