Trans. Not Shifting-ats

My trans. isn't shifting right. Did try search on this, I remember seeing a thread where some one had almost the same deal, but can't find it.

I was playing rather hard kinda, raced a chevy 1/2 ton gasser (I won twice). After 2nd victory my trans. wouldn't shift out of 2nd (??). Came to a stop light, turned green, proceeded to go then trans. acted like it wouldn't shift up. Did the neut. to drive shift and the same. Then it acted like neut. (oh oh-snapped a shaft-S***). shifted to neut. and revved it a little, coasted in neut. for 50-75 ft. Shift to drive and had some. limped home about a mile left. As I was about to turn I tried speeding up and trans. shifted to 2nd. (??) As I was nearing home trans. almost acted fine, I almost turned to go and see if it was back to norm. But decided not to.
Checked fluid level-fine. Smelled a little off but [B]NO[B]burnt smell. Has about 4k miles on fluid, same as new trans. install.

My trans. temp never got over 140* which the sensor is in ATS deep pan. This happened around 12:30-1 A.M.

Has enyone experienced this recently???

I talked to Mike at ATS and had me do a line test-70lbs.in D/80lbs. at 1500 r's. He said that's where it should be. Also checked fluid again-perfect. Took it out for a spin- shifted like it's supposed to.
Mike said I might have sucked up some air in the pick up when I hit the brakes (after beating the 1/2 ton).

I'm going to drain the trans. tonight and check the filter. Mike was saying that maybe some break in gunk might have got in a passage and slightly plug it. IMO there are way too many routes that inside there!!!!

Anyhow, back to normal and ATS was there with customer service!!!!!

Is their anyone close to me that know how to install shafts??? I don't really want to try this on my own but would like to know how to.

Go to goerend.com and they have a couple of videos on how to break down the trans. I would not do it without my builder looking over my shoulder...

I started the truck and let it idle for a few min. like I normally do. I put it in drive and pulled out to the drive way. I felt the darn trans. right away not shifting to 2nd. I pulled out onto the street and it wouldn't grab 2nd until I hit around 2500 rpm's, then it shifted normal. Went a mile to the traffic light, turned and same thing on not shifting til I got the r's up.

When I played with it this morning before work it was fine and going to work shifted fine. It was 95-100 * today (yesterday). Tonight it's 75*.

I'm going to drain the trans. fluid and check the filter. BTW I have less the 4000 miles on this freakin' trans. YES It's P*****G me off.

I drained the trans. pan and filtered the fluid, had some discoloration (micro metal) to be expected. Nothin' major. Pulled the pan and had very little micro metal.

I got to thinking maybe something to do with PMT-cl tune. I have bumped the pod a few times when not keyed on. With doing that, it freezes everything. I have to unplug then plug back in. Sometimes I have to re-down load. I have a day/night chioce of when the backlight changes brightness. This is a form of a computer and things do go wierd/nuts. Maybe I'm just too tired and thinking bizzare?? I need to get some sleep so this will have to wait to see if this might be it. To add some more info., I have the low end power (??) set on the pmt, this is what I think might be messing up(???). I'm going to erase the sd card and re-load it, of cource returning the truck to stock form 1st.

Refresher; truck had problems shifting Mon. night - shifted fine Tues. morn.( screen brightness changed) - problem shift. Tues. night (screen changed).

Make any sense to anyone??? with a computer clinch (pmt).

Got off the phone with ATS and finally narrowed it down to VB, maybe. I still have to line press. test it to make sure. See what happens later.

Looks like I won't be getting any sleep today.
