Tranny Slip

Tranny Slip
I have the 48RE I believe...
When I’m hooked up and trying to upshift while going uphill, sometimes the rpm’s will jump and come back down. Sounds like double shifting; Is that the “tranny slip” I keep hearing about...?
Anything I can do to stop this from happening?

That rpm shift is the torque converter unlocking and locking. Tranny slip involves a violent bucking of the truck when under higher load or shuddering in the drive line under unloaded high power. ks
