tranny question
I've read a bunch of posts about ppl breaking the shafts in the transmisson launching at higher levels of boost. This makes me wonder if there is something i've not got set right on my truck, i've launched 40-50 times in 4wd at 30+ lbs of boost with no i'll effects on the transmission. Is this just luck or my truck just not putting out the power its supposed to?

although your not pushing alot of power.i cant believe you havent snapped anything yet. 30lb boosted launches is a no no. stay around 15 tops. if you dont upgrade your tranny, and continue launching like that , your doomed, just a matter of when and where. try goerend or HTS

You're not making very serious power, but I bet your torque converter is a nice shade of blue!
Add a Smarty beta and a lift pump and I guarantee snappage!
My 60' times are 1.60-1.70 (if I do my part) with my 35 inch Yokohamas.....Try playing with your tire pressure and rpm's (small turbos are usually already lit on the line).

It hits 15psi at less than half throttle tho and dont come out of the hole good tho, even at 30psi it doesn't seem to pull as hard bottom end as my ol 7.3 stroke did tho. Would the valve body and TC help it that much?

How long are you planning on keeping the truck? What do you do with the truck? The 48RE transmission is much better than the earlier 47RE. If you arent going much further in power than what you have now you could probably get away with just the VB/TC combo.

I tow a good bit with it and run it at the strip fairly regular. Planning on goin a good bit higher on tha hp to about the 700 or so hp range. So i'm thinkin the transmission would be the best place to start
