Tranny hose and cooler leak
So i replaced the power steering pump, and when doing so found out that i had a slow tranny leak in the joint where the flexible hose attaches to the tranny cooler. so i took it apart to find that the soft aluminum was worn/damaged on the cooler side which probably occured from the vibration of the cummins i figure. so to fix it i would need a new cooler and hoses which is $600, so i have done a temp./farmer fix by buying a short piece of hose that is rated for oil and put some clamps on it. so far so good. has any one messed around with using the stock cooler and putting new fittings on the ends so the rubbing is minimizes? thx for any advice

I have no expieriance with this, but as long as it works roll with it!!! No reason to replace if what you did works IMHO... I have had to replace my tranny cooler because of a leak in the top right hand corner, and I also replaced the hot line from the tranny because it some how was rubbing against the front driveline. Don't know how the line got rubbed in two, guessing road debris. The cooler had 110,000 miles when i replaced it.
