Tranny guage sender wont fit into test port

I have the Isspro guage and sender. I read on somewhere that you could thread the sender into the governor test port on the pass. side of the trans. The sender and port are both 1/8" pipe, but the sender is too deep too thread onto the port. Anybody ran into this?

That's a common problem with using the test ports, along with it can contact almost anything moving inside. You have to use a 1/8 inch nipple, then a 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch adapter, 1/4 nipple, then another 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch adapter then screw in the temp gauge. I opted to mount it in the hot line for about the same price it cost to buy all those brass fittings.

What did you use? A 1/2" compression tee with 1/4" pipe in the center?

I forgot to follow up. I just used a 1/8-1/4" bushing and then reduced it back and it seems to work pretty well. Thanks, Brad
