Tranny Gauge.....
I just called a performance shop to get an estimate on installing a pyro, boost and tranny gauge. He stated that he has to drop the tranny pan to install the sensor.....anybody heard of that or done that?
Thanks,

Did that on a previous truck. Drilled and tapped for a sender unit.
I believe most after market pans have a spot for a temp sender built in but I don't remember for sure. The diff between having someone remove/drill and tap your pan may not be mush less than just getting an after market tranny pan.

I agree with Benson. Just add an aftermarket pan and it will help your tranny run cooler too. They already have a port for hooking up the sensor to. It may cost a little bit more than having your stocker drilled etc., but not that much more. Then you can drain your tranny fluid before removing the pan to make it easier to service your transmission.
You can have your gauge man hook everything up (except the sensor) and then when you get the new pan, just put it on yourself and change out your trans fluid and filter at the same time.
Here is a Mag-Hytec Double Deep tranny pan.....

Look at the passenger side of the transmission half way or more towards the bell housing. You should have a port there and wont have to drill and tap. It should be somewhere above the pan area. Hope you find it for no dropping and no drilling and tapping.
