i agree that idiot light is a joke .. if you ever get to the point of that idiot light coming on ???!!! you are waaaaaaaaaay to hot and it is the very least game over for the fluid in your tranny if not more damage !!! why they would set a idiot light up that far in temperature range boggles my mind .. i had mine come on last fall climbing up a gravel road with trailer with two quads on it and my tranny temp gauge went through the roof like 200 f tranny light came on i turned off the truck ... fluid was burnt !!!! good bye stock tranny .. from just regular pulling (not using power enhancements)

I have a 11' camper on my 05 and driving up some of our steep hills around here my light never comes on, not supposed to until 275 f my tranny dealer down here said that I shouldn't need a tranny gauge hauling a 30' travel trailer because they say the cooler so enormous on the dodge and that it is supposed to shift down if it starts to get to hot to a lower gear until the ecm reads a cooler temp. Is this all true.

My work trailer is 30' and 10-11000 lbs and coming home last night the highest my tranny hit was 146..
