Tran sender question before install tommorrow

I read a ton of post and want to go with the hot line instal. I think that from what I have read that this is the line coming from the tranny that is closest the the engine or forward most line.

I looked an was planning things out and looked at these lines. I see where the screw into the cooler and tranny.

Now that brings up another quick question. Sorry this sounds dumm but I assumed the "cooler" was up at the radiator. It seems now to be the metal thing on top of my tranny? The lines go in there and then go to the front radiator area.

So anyways seeing where the connect to the cooler there why cant I get some brass fittings and "t" in right there. Screw my "t" into the cooler or trans and then connect the line to the "t". Thoughts

Tranny

The line that you are refering too is the hot line. That odd looking thing on your motor is actually a heater. helps warm up the fluid in the cold weather, and helps cool it a bit when it gets hot. It's odd why they do it, but it does help the overal performance of the tranny.

I used a Steel fitting from Mcmaster (badrammerjammer) has the part number as I didn't save that PM and now that, that part is so popular I should have. Anyway it's a nice compression fitting, around 20 bucks, and works great with no leaks, is good up to 20,000 PSI, and is steel rather than brass. Looks like this

Is there realy that much pressure in there. I bought the brass fittings and I am going to cut the line and put it in there. The line itself is a 14 dollar part so if i screw it up no big loss. I hope the brass fittings and my flare job will work if there is that much pressure.

My confidence is a little low, I took one end off yesterday just to make sure everything was how i pictured it in my head. Now the line is seeping so I gave it so more wrench, check it again after I get to wrk. I hope this is not a frocast of things to come.

I do believe the Transmission only gets to around 200 PSI. I thought I heard that it gets that high to lock up clutchs and all so don't quote me on that. The 20,000 PSI is what the steel fitting is rated for. I know of people that use brass and it works fine. I didn't want to flare that line since it's only aluminum and I never had good luck doing that. Check for leaks and if none, your fine. I painted a line on mine so I can visually see if it's vibrating loose or not. 6 months and not so much as seepage outa it. Good luck.... And we can do anything on these trucks. So many people will chime in and help, so if you get stuck, somebody will be able to help you out.
