Towing with Diablo

Hey all, question, can I tow my boat on performance mode, or should I kick it down to tow mode. It is a 99 mastercraft 190 weighin about mid to high 3k when loaded down for travel. Thanks all.

That is pretty light. If you are not going up the grapevine or anything, it might be worth a try. Ya' got gauges so I know you watch them. Let us know how it goes if ya' try it.

You should be fine....I tow my 10,500lb 5th wheel set on the extreme program and have had no issues with it. The highest my EGT's have been is 1300....

It says right on the programmer just before you load the "Performance" that it will handle up to 8000lbs.

It may not be smart, but i haul 22K on Performance (100hp) and i have no probs. The egt's get a little hot, but easily controlled. Clutch holds too....

Mine tows great on Perf ~1225max egt. That's the most I want to put on the drivetrain with a load and I don't have to worry about doping off and not watching the pyro. Craig

torkmnstr, I know it sounds funny to say it but I have seen guys racing with a trailer in tow. I would recommend against it....

Yeah, I hear ya, I know my tranny would not like that one The only problem is my dad is gonna tow with my truck up and I won't be there which conerns me because he is a crazy driver 30 years of being a cop makes you drive like a lunatic, now there are some stories. But I can see it now, him gunning it or racing some other trailered vehicle beacuse he loves the power, and who wouldnt and then boom there goes something......ohhhh that would not be good and would be ****** Oh well though, you break it you buy it Then I could do a full build
