Tow hook questions
I've got the stock tow hooks that came with the rig. Sure seems like they burried these things close to the bumper making them hard to get to.
I picked up a 3 inch recovery strap and there is no way to get that thing on these Dodge hooks. Does anyone know where I can get some heavy duty steel hooks that I can use with the recovery strap?

That would be the tool of choice, just get one rated for the amount of weight to be moved. They are far better then a hook, these will not slip off when tension is removed.

Mopar_Mudder, you can't be serious. Take a picture, I'd like to see this done.
I can't get my tow strap between the bumper and the tow hook on the truck, let alone get it thru the hook. Did they change the hook in O4?

Wow, thanks for the pic's and reply. Do you do windows also?
My tow strap is different, I can tell by the pics. It is not tappered at the end like yours. I think I'll trade in the tow strap and/or still look for hooks or shackles.
I'm not sure how good an idea it is to put much torque that way, it doesn't pull on the hook, but down. I think it was designed to put a rope on, they way you put a ski rope on a boat, it wraps around once, then goes back around and thru to catch --so you end up pulling out on the hook.
Oh well, too bad Dodge doesn't have a better design for something so simple.
thanks again.
