Tnt / Tnt-r Settings

Taking a poll,

who wants to keep the timing settings the same and who would like to see them changed to this?

#0 lowest timing [nos]
#1
#2
#3
#4 highest timing advance

I think it would be easier, if you have too much rattle, lower it one number.

Not complaining, but there seems to be a lot of confusion about this and IMO would make it a little more user friendly.

Quite a while back I suggested this and Marco gave a reply as to why he couldn't do it that way. I don't remember what he said - partly because I didn't even understand it. But I agree, sequential settings would be MUCH easier to deal with. You could actually remember that instead of having to read the sheet to figure out what number to set it on. Right now I'm wishing the TNT had a higher timing setting than it does.

I agree with you, I could use a little more myself so I think I might go back to version 5.1 which had more timing than the current 5.3

I don't know why he could not do it that way. When there's a will there's a way.[ i hope]

The timing thing is counter intuitive for sure.
When I first got the TNT(R) I quite literally tightened the last bolts (new injectors and turbos) and drove to a dyno event.

I loaded level 9, cranked all of the settings, and set the timing to level 4.....Not surprisingly the truck ran like crap!
It wasn't until I started playing with the settings that I found out what was wrong....Ooops!

Screwing up the valve lash didn't help iether....Sooo maybe intuitive doesn't have anything to do with it!

omaharam,
Just curious, but you are finding you need more timing than level 0 and odd numbered SWs?

I should also add that what can be really confusing is the TNT (non "R") has a totally different setup...Equally confusing to my small brain.

Gosh guys it's not that hard to remember/figure out. I've switched settings about 5 times now and I could do it in my sleep.

Your obviously smart enough to earn enough $$$ to afford this truck, I think with practice you can figure it out.

This hasent even been out a day, give it time.

I get max performance with my mods. Stock clutch still holding strong and hasent slipped. I know some may call BS but its all how you drive it. Wait for the turbo to spool and then roll into it.

sw#9 (sw8 had less rattle but way slower)
tq 3
timing 3 (2 rattled too much and sw#8 default is 1)
rp 2

It has nothing to do with being smart. This is all about it being user friendly. I have had the tnt/r since it first came out to be tested so I know what the settings are but you have alot of people who are confused about it. Some people will change back and forth from revo to the tnt tunes which the settings are different.

By the way your clutch is on borrowed time, I know you can drive around with 1235hp on a stock tranny but what fun is that.

Yes it is for for aftermarket injectors that gives you LESS timing and since I was getting too much timing rattle on #2 and #1 wasnt enough power I tried #3 and it's pulls just as hard as #2 w/o rattle.

Guys that had timing rattle with the Smarty have been running the aftermarket injector program since it was introduced a year ago even if they didnt have injectors.

Every truck is different, you have to try and see what works best for you.
